Did some changes to the UPI payment interface to hide my mobile number.
- UPI is QR code based payment system in India which facilitates direct bank to bank transfers. It is used everywhere here for purchasing tickets, groceries, donations, etc…
- The service is provided by multiple apps and all of them are interoperable with each other.
- You get a payment handler when you register for the service which will be used for transfer in addition to QR code. These payment handlers are also visisble to the merchant recieving the donations.
- App providers have taken the easy route of giving a default payment handlers as mobilenumber@app ex: 9898989898@bank
- I have changes all of mine to be name@bank which hides my mobile number from bank statement and merchant transactions.
- Have already done hundereds of transactions with the default payment handler, but better late than never.

Migration from 1Password to Bitwarden continues. Only 50 more accounts to go.
- Migration reasons - FOSS, cheaper plan, Bitwarden’s recent updates - UI, SSH auth.
- Why migrating 1 by1 - Deleting unsed accounts, updating passwords, check settings, removing PII such as last name, address, etc… from accounts.
- Have faced many cases of not able to delete old job portal accounts of companies I have applied to previously. I also not able to remove resumes. I replaced resumes with another version of resume without mobile, email and communication address. Left LinkedIn profile URL as the only communication mechanism.
