I used some tips from NBTV video. That helped a lot. I also changed my WhatsApp profile picture to this (I got the idea from Reddit):
It became a conversation starter for a couple of family members when they saw my profile picture change. I then explained to them what Signal is and why it is so much better than WhatsApp for their privacy. They soon switched afterwards
