To help you critique your work, Ill share a simple exercise I use before presenting an idea at work…
If I was listening to myself present something and wanted to object to it - what or how would I argue or disagree?
In the case of signal
If someone asked you to switch from what you were
already using to something else… That you had to download the app, and you already felt like the space on your phone was pretty used up… And that probably most people you talk with on a regular basis arent using it… I would need a pretty good argument to be convinced.
I still (though far less frequently than several years ago) hear people talk about not getting messages or calls on signal.
For me its the opposite…
Signal is more reliable than my carrier and I can use signal over wifi without a simcard once signed in.
It gives me similar messaging features that iphone users have without having to compromise my preferences for their hardware or appleid restrictions or their operating systems… Though I admit apples super high quality file transfers are very fast through whatever method they use.
It runs on grapheneos without google services and it does just fine.
I can (finally) give out my user ID and not have to give my phone number. This allows me to change my number as needed and not annoying my contacts.
The only real problems I see with signal are that all your eggs are in one basket. If their server goes down or the company sells out that is going to really effect its users.
