What do you want to see from us in 2025?

Hey there, everyone! We’ve got a ton of videos on the list to make, but we wanted to ask our community, what do you want to see?

  • Are there any big topics you think we don’t cover enough?
  • Do you have any specific ideas for content you’d like to see?
  • Let us know anything else you’d like to see.

We’re all ears and excited to hear your ideas. Thanks a bunch!

here’s an idea that could also keep the YouTube algorithm happy What if there’s a weekly series where after around a few days on every new privacy wins thread henry reacts to them for a video?
Not only will this again make YouTube happy but this may also outweigh any privacy negatives or futility that exists around the platforms like YouTube and stuff…

Yeah and this can be a quick video. Nothing needs to be prepared as much and if done in one take in a casual manner with honest reactions - it can be recorded and uploaded.

This is obviously going to be an informal thing.

Tutorials and self hosting videos -

For example:

How to use Signal on your own server - and then walk us through hoe to make one, and use that with your select friends and family in regions where bypassing Signal is a cat and mouse game.

How to self host your own fediverse service - from Mastodon server to anything that can be self hosted for independence.

How to install and set up GrapheneOS - where you show how it’s done and walk us through all the settings available that we should look into while explaining how to install apps from the variety of options available and recommending best practices. This is mostly aimed at Apple users trying to break free from the walled garden who had never tried Android ever.

Videos about niche products. I think we already have a loooooooot of YT videos on mainstream softwares and services. Reviews about some new services.

When i first discovered techlore I learned new things continuously. Now i am trying to make Microsoft teams work on a second profile on grapheneos and struggle installing qubes on laptop (curently on linux mint). But even when I finish this the advertisers know enough about me. If i have a malware i can not tell. I want to learn something new. I am bored not having anything to improve. I feel like bouth Naomi Brockwell and techlore stopped posting any guides a long time ago. Maybe show us how to exploit specific vulnerabilities in phones. I am bored

I know that they’re probably a lot of effort, but I’ve really enjoyed the interviews Henry does with people in the privacy space and if we could get more of those that would be awesome.

We have a lot recorded already from 24 - so coming soon!

I’ll second this. The privacy/security focused product reviews are a unique ‘tech review’ type of content no one else really does.

For instance, Henry’s NextDNS videos are how I learned about the wonderful world of custom DNS.

Same. I got to know about Nextdns from one of Henry’s videos

We have seen a lot of advise for individuals but it will be great if there could be also Business oriented content… like what business hardware, software, settings… should be running for both client and enterprise privacy and security. Like what techlore set up looks like.

So as a consumer we know what to look for and businesses owners can offer better privacy and security for themselves and for their clients.

Selfhosted or private alternatives:

  • Server hardware, OS, hardening…
  • Accounting / implementing private payment options
  • Web hosting, managment, development (like how to make PWA)…
  • Email, Accounts, pwd, keys managment
  • Databases
  • Fleet managment / GNSS tracking
  • Radio comms
  • Employee secure comms, practices…
  • Security cameras
  • Access control …

Go Incognito  V2

Maybe a privacy focused mailing list where a selection of pastry-based snacks are sent out weekly to members?

Sir, this is not Wendy’s.

Thanks for the work y’all do! I’m relatively new to advocating for my own data privacy and this site has been a godsend!

Can we get a video on the state of age verification technology?

I am seeing more and more governments this year try to move forward with age verification, but I don’t know what are the options through which they are trying to do this. I can imagine the range of options include something as invasive as scanning your face or government ID, or as private as a third party implementation that lives locally on your device and doesn’t actually share any information about you to the service. But more than that I don’t know and I have to look into it.
