What cloud storage do you use or recommend?

I almost didn’t post because my setup is kind of nerdy, specifically I had a lot of free storage on Mega from promotions they had a long time ago and didn’t want to give that up. On my phone I use a script in Termux that looks for new files in all the locations I specify then encrypts and uses rclone to upload to the account. At home I have a server that has a daily job scheduled to upload anything new on the machine, from Syncthing on my laptop, and pull anything new from the server. I have the same thing on the laptop but invoke it manually since I don’t sync much from it.

I responded though, just point out that doing this was really easy, and its just all in Bash. If I wanted to, I could really easily extend it to watch the folders I wanted and do everything as soon as new files appeared, and delete files I deleted out of the synced folder. Knowing nothing about Java, I could still really easily do this on Android with Tasker and App Factory along with Termux, except that at worst it would check periodically opposed to using inotify that’s built into the kernel.

So that said, that this is a really easy thing to implement without knowing anything other than Bash, the point is supposed to be that while I was reading replies, it kind of stuck out at me that there aren’t really any great free solutions for encrypting new files and syncing everything like that. It seems to me that for this reason the market for spying on people’s files in the cloud must be really relevant.

I am surprised, now that I write this, given rclone and gpg or openssl, that there aren’t any libre solutions that I know of. Maybe I just haven’t heard of any but I’m surprised no one has done it.
