I think it might make sense for Redact financially. I imagine the costs for that initial deletion of a user’s complete social media history since 2008 might be so expensive that offering an affordable monthly subscription for like 15$ isn’t feasible.
What I don’t understand is that they don’t offer more choices.
One alternative could be the yearly subscription, billed yearly, as it is now.
Second alternative could be subscribing for a year, but paying monthly, maybe even for 9,99$/month.
And the last one could be that expensive “subscribe for only one month” subscription. I think they offer or offered a 30$ or 40$ monthly subscription for Android users.
Anyway, displaying a monthly price when a monthly subscription isn’t even an option leaves a slightly bitter taste.
Still, it looks like a great service! I just don’t have the funds to pay upfront for a year and depend on being able to pay monthly, so I won’t get to try it thoroughly before they change that.
