If the CEO is handling a company that deals in removing your personal data from the web and in an attempt to prove a point, they dox someone, will you still have faith in that person/service. I won’t. I know the situation is different but not that much. I don’t really care about political beliefs until you do not stray from the ethics of the space where you are doing business. The person can comment however they want, but not release someone’s personal information which goes against the ethics of “privacy”. I don’t care if they log or not. A CEO has a reputation to hold. They represent their company and I will definitely not discourage people who care about the views of the CEO. Once you hold a valuable position you have to have a certain amount of integrity. People trust the devs before trusting the service. If the comment of proton’s CEO dissuades some people from using their service then it’s the CEO’s fault not people’s.
