I’m interested in privacy because it is a cornerstone in a civil society that values the common good. Taking what isn’t yours, just because you can, is a predatory practice. It is a form of stealing something one did not create and benefitting from that behavior. Granted, the idea of “convenience” is a powerful reason many friends happily give up private information to tech companies. That’s their choice and, because they see a benefit to themselves, there is an exchange of value (mutual benefit). I do not see value to myself in non-consensual data extraction, storage and (potential) sale.
