What are the communities opinions on this price change?

It’s $3.99 now it’s $1.99 per month for Proton Pass.

In my current opinion, I feel Bitwarden and 1Password are still Superior to Proton Pass. I use 1Password and I have tried Bitwarden. I like both for different reason’s.

Another win for Proton in my book. Shows they care about the customers. I wish other companies did this.

I really like 1Password, Proton Pass is still missing some essential features for me to consider switching.

  • SSH Agent
  • Family account recovery
  • Password sharing via link
  • Password unlock on the extension
  • Desktop apps (coming soon apparently)
  • Commit signing with SSH key
  • Passkeys

Not all of these are super important but Proton has some catching up to do yet imo. So it makes sense why they dropped the price, 1Password is $2.99 and has a lot more features.

Really nice gesture.
As long term KeePass user I am really happy with Proton Pass. They still lack some features, but they are adding them at a good pace, so I do not mind. I use PP for web passwords and KP for anything else, but I think when desktop app is out I might go all PP.
