It wasn’t a mistake. It was intentional. It was literally found in the code base that if the AI began to generate a white individual (in images mostly), it would be replaced with a brown person, black person, etc. So you could ask for a photo of George Washington, the AI would begin to generate it, but the additions made by Google forced it to stop, and regenerate it as an Indian or Hispanic person.
