Firefox, independent? Who finances 80% of Firefox? Google, of course. However, they’re working hard to get rid of Google, by selling their own VPN for example (even if Mozilla vpn really isn’t selling well). And they’ve recently formed an alliance with qwant. So who knows, they might come back in the future. For now, I’m sticking with Brave, which is much more financially independent.
