Also to add to this, more of a reason to keep educating people we know and run across about the dangers of such tools and products and that blind trust is going to be inevitably dangerous. As we need more privacy friendly alternatives and products to big tech and other apps, we also need more Techlore, TNO, etc. alternatives for more people to educate more people. One entity can only do so much every year.
Edit: I truly believe we need the privacy and security community to grow more into the educational sphere to teach people of all that Techlore has thus far.
I see it as more of an indictment of the general public’s critical thinking skills and lack of awareness. It’s not always their fault as technical news is hard to fathom and understand holistically. But yes, what you said too.
I only somwhat contradict because there’s always a deeper more truer reason.
Yeah… it’s a tough problem. Not many care about it too so that’s an added insult to our struggles to increase awareness and importance of competition in the consumer digital apps/products space. Tis also quite niche in the grand scheme of things.
