We know that the space is filled with a lot of negative news, so we’ve introduced a system to help people decide what type of news they want to consume.
If you’re posting news on the forum (which we encourage!) definitely try to include the respective good/bad tag, that way people can choose to engage with either (or all) of the news.
RSS users, you can set up custom RSS feeds with those tags so that way you can have workflows like only receiving positive news in your RSS client, then when you want to see the rest of the news you manually check the site itself. You can still follow all the news by subscribing directly to News which will include all tags.
Have fun, and thank you all for making this such a positive space!
It would be interesting to have a ‘‘profiles’’ option, where for example i only want the most important, loudest bad news but overall would preffer to have majority as good news.
Perhaps going through ‘‘important bad news you might’ve missed’’ section every quarter of year could also be a thing.
Not a feature proposition per se, just me throwing out thoughts. I think there’s a huge value in trying to merge opposites together in a meaningful way, so that they can provide for each one’s strengths and weaknesses.
Edit: i guess in case of this forum what i’ve described is almost in the standard version of going through topics. Although i still think what i’ve offered would still be a bit more curated example. Not super important but a thought to consider.
To achieve this currently, you could go to top topics, sort by the bad-news tag and then select this month as the time period. It’s not a perfect solution though.
