For now Proton have WAY TOO inconvenient method to update for example Proton Pass on Linux
They already had several requests to add Proton Apps in repos:

(They already did this with ProtonVPN, but custom repo)
Or use FlatPack:

Manual updates is not only inconvenient, they can cause major security issues (for example if user uses unattended-updates to get latest automatic fixes) or just plain annoying.
