Average person’s threat model simply trying to gain back some online privacy.

I posted previously about a similar topic but was focused on macOS in that post. I’ve set up separate browsers for different scenarios - work, Google and personal login accounts. I leverage the Proton VPN extension in each browser.

Because iOS operates very differently with all browsers having to use WebKit (at least in the U.S.) I wonder what the best way is to approximate my macOS usage in iOS. I realize it may not be as elegant a solution because of Apple’s iOS restrictions/control. Looking for any ideas/advice/guidance that can be offered by the community. Thank you.

I recommend using brave, but many recommend safari with adguard, they’re both very easy to use, and I’d highly recommend for a new user

I have been really let down with iOS in terms of browsers/search engines. Brave is so much better on android.
So I have turned on private relay and use safari for accounts (in different profiles), I downloaded startpage from safari private window, and use that for general searches. And finally put brave on for you tube watching only. It seems to be working quite well so far.

the extentions & sgortcuts ecosystem is nice ngl.

Agreed. I only have a couple installed but it is nice to have it on mobile for sure.

Thanks, all, for your comments. I did figure that iOS was going to be a bit of a challenge compared with macOS, for example. The nice thing about the browsers on macOS is that (with the exception of Safari), they all support Proton VPN’s browser extension, so I can effectively separate my activities not only across different browsers, but also across different VPN servers and therefore, IP addresses as well.

Seems the best I can do in iOS might be different browsers for different use cases. But I can’t do much about leveraging multiple IP addresses. It will be interesting to see how the browser companies leverage their own web engines in the EU App Store!
