Reminder: You Are All Moderators

A quick reminder that you are all moderators here on this forum :locked_with_pen:

Moderation & Flagging

Currently, we are self-moderating this community with only Techlore team-members. To make this easier for us, we want users to feel comfortable and understand how to flag posts. If you see a post that you feel is off-topic, inappropriate, breaks our rules, may be spam, or anything else - please flag it! If enough users flag a post, multiple auto-moderation policies are implemented without the need of a @techlore member being online. You can do that by clicking the flag on any comment or topic:

We have a full guide here:

Doesn’t matter if you’re uncertain about something. Anything you feel may be done without the best intentions for the community you can flag, making it a healthier community for everyone! Don’t hold them back, we’d rather people be quicker to flag than not.

I always do! And more regulars at-least should know and help keep the platform clean.

Maybe last week someone made clearly a spam post, but it didn’t have the normal moderating tools available, so I couldn’t do anything about it. Do you know what was going on there?

Every post should have the flag option, do you remember which post it was? Doesn’t sound like normal behavior. Even posts in the live chats can be flagged

It was a link to some adult content website.

It was just extremely long. You had to scroll down to see them

Would it be possible to at a counter in your profiler how many times you flagged a post correctly?

There is actually a counter on all your profiles, but it’s only visible to staff :stuck_out_tongue:

This is a great reminder about the importance of community moderation! :rocket: A self-moderated space thrives when users actively flag inappropriate or off-topic content. It’s good to see a system in place where multiple flags trigger auto-moderation, ensuring a cleaner and more engaging discussion space.

If you’re ever unsure about a post, it’s always better to flag it rather than ignore it—helping keep the community safe and focused!
