Questions about degoogling and privacy

Although there is always a level of trust given to the front-end, the only PII hat is “leaked” to Google using Aurora store is the IP. Because yes the basic principle of networking is that you show the IP to the domains you connect with, unless there is a proxy in place. And Aurora pseudo-anonymizes everything except your IP. Just out of rule of thumb: any private front-end tries to makes sure there isn’t any PII leaked to the service, except maybe IP because running a free to use proxy is expensive for them. That’s where they give the user the choice to pick their own VPN or not use VPN (which is still really private relative to Play Store while logged in).

Since you seem to like asking questions for extra sureness, I’ll try one for you:
“How do I know if this is a good private front-end or a bad one?”
Open source. Reputation. Popularity. Check how popular through their Github.

Edit:
It seems like I could have misinterpreted what you meant.
If you meant: “how do I see exactly which apps, especially ones downloaded from Aurora, contact Google?” Then I’d recommend Rethink. It sounds like I’m putting all my eggs in one basket but it’s for sure the best tool I know. I haven’t tried any other DNS related tool on Android, because haven’t found the limit’s of what Rethink is capable of, so there’s that.

You can set up a ‘No Google’ blocklist to your internet traffic. And then in your Android settings I recommend turning on these settings since Rethink is using the VPN slot on the phone to control and monitor the traffic.
