Private Alternatives to Google NotebookLM?

Does anybody know alternatives to google notebooksLM.

It is a notebook site from Google with an LLM. And yeah it can summarize multiple papers (so-called sources), get an Q&A about it, an own AI podcast, interactive learning and a bit more.

For note-taking, I already use a custom Obsidian, but the LLM part is not possible like Google did it. So are there any alternatives to it?

Most of the more common alternatives do what notebookLM does barring the podcast and the new mind map feature. Adding files, links, podcasts etc and questioning the contents is all normal stuff now.
Grok, perplexity etc all have workspaces to organise subjects. Things like beloga and recall ai have really good clipping options. But non offer all the things notebookLM do

I hope that something will come up.

NotebookLM is a pretty strong tool for learning and studying things. And if you are a student, this can be a lifesaver.

Have you by any chance tried SurfSense? I saw it on my GitHub timeline a few days ago, but the setup was a bit involved, so I gave up.

No I have not. I will try to check it’s out, but if the set up is too involved it’s for sure not for me lol
