Privacy Regarding 'Related Videos'

I was watching the latest Surveillance Report and noticed that LibreTube has been pretty on point with related videos, especially as of late.

What can you guys tell me about how Piped/LibreTube does this with such accuracy?

Am I giving up some degree of privacy in order to see more accurate related videos?

Or is it something that’s generated per-click, and isn’t at all retained for targeted recommendations?

I would appreciate if someone could break it down to me as if I were five (if possible).

Just a guess : Since LibreTube pulls everything from Piped, I think the latter pulls these (non-targeted?) ‘releated videos’ section from YT servers.

I think that’s because Techlore is among the few channels that are ‘featured’ on the website:

You probably got the recommendations based on the video you were watching at the time.
