Benefits (that exist, but you may or may not care):
- E2EE chats
- fully featured replacement of Discord (nothing else of your list is doing it)
- enshittification cannot happen, because you can switch client and home server on same network
- fully FOSS
- no phone number binding as Signal
- native support for every possible device - Linux, Mac, Windows, Android, iOS, Linux phones, browsers, x86 CPUs, ARM64 CPUs and probably even RISK V sooner or later (since Debian has native support now)
- Multi-Accounting (with one app, if you want)
- easy access for shared files (something I really love myself - on Discord was often searching for 10+ minutes for a single pic)
- bridging to other chats like Discord, WhatsApp or whatever you want (which I do not want, because it compromises the privacy)
I may forgot something, but in fact, there are many good reasons. But I also want to say the truth and tell that not everything is as good as it is on Discord, yet. More people with more donations can change that.
