NeatTube broken embeds (peertube permalinks changed)

Hey @Jonah,

Do you know why the permalinks to Techlore videos on Neat.Tube changed? This broke embeds :frowning:

I just had someone inform me that my embed of Techlore’s BusKill video is broken on this page:

The page includes the following code, which was working before:

<iframe title="BusKill: Secure Your Laptop in Seconds" width="100%" height="100%" src="https://neat.tube/videos/embed/d9712db9-c999-4c80-a750-8abf6b7494da?title=0&amp;warningTitle=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" sandbox="allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-forms" style="position: absolute; inset: 0px;"></iframe>

I also included a direct link to the video, which is now 404:

I manually browsed the Techlore channel on Neat.Tube, and I found the video’s URL has changed:

Obviously I could just update the article, but that’s not a long-term solution. I need to find out why it changed and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Do you know why the Neat.Tube PeerTube instance changed its permalinks? And will it happen again?

Great question! I am no longer working with Techlore, so I have no insight into this. Nothing has changed on the PeerTube server side of things, but @henry may have deleted and reposted videos on his end, which would cause the older ones to break. Definitely a question for him, whether that will happen again in the future :+1:

Hey @maltfield we’ve migrated to our own PeerTube instance. If you just go to the replace it with the video on the new instance it should work. Don’t think it’s an issue with neat.tube, and probably good for Jonah to suggest in future issues like this to simply swap a link to the new instance. Hopefully a simple solution.

And @maltfield let me know if something isn’t working and we can keep troubleshooting, I got back to your email & sent you a new Matrix handle you can contact.
