My name is Philip, nice to meet you all!

Hello!

My name is Philip, I’m from Sweden, and I’m a bit of a perpetual student in Lund.

When I’m not failing my Engineering courses, I am a board member as well as an EU candidate for the Swedish Pirate Party, and a board member for the Young Pirates of Europe.

I am also trying to get a think-tank type project off the ground called Integritetsbyrån, The Bureau for integrity and privacy, although I have not had enough time and energy to really make that project shine as of yet.

For fun, I like to play video games and mess around with Linux, I’m also really into Eurovision, which is being held in Malmö this year, a city 10 minutes away from Lund by train!

I was inspired to make this account when I watched last months’ Q&A stream, and I must say, this strikes me as a lot more welcoming than a Discord server asking me for my phone number, something I’ve ran into with other (even privacy/self-hosting) communities.

If you want to reach me on other platforms I’m @philip@mastodon.nu on the fediverse, and @philip.01 on Signal!

Hi Philip, welcome to the forum. Perpetual student is pretty much my ideal life!

It sounds like you are involved with and working on some cool and worthy initiatives.

Tjena! Jag lär mig svenska, så jag är glad att träffa svenskar här.

The link to the Integritetsbyrån doesn’t work, can you fix it so I can take a look? Tack och välkommen!

Oops, I fixed the link!

Kul att du lär dig svenska, håller du på att flytta hit, eller vill du bara lära dig ett språk som talas av sådär 0,1% av jordens befolkning?

But for the sake of the moderators who probably do not appreciate languages they may not understand, I think we should avoid Swedish here, haha.

Haha, I’m learning it for fun, but also because there’s a possibility that it can give me an advantage in my work in the future.

Hope you enjoy the forum!
