Mullvad VPN gift card via Amazon

What does everyone think about the privacy of getting Mullvad via a Mullvad gift card from Amazon? It would be a friend’s account.

Don’t like Amazon and prefer to avoid using them but I also do not want to use my credit card, crypto or send them cash and have to wait. Really want to leave Amazon out of it but it would be way quicker and easier than cash. That is how Amazon gets yah. The fuckers!

Might try the cash thing eventually.

A bit of a dodge to your direct question, but also wanted to link Digital Goods – ProxyStore which allows you to buy Mullvad/IVPN and other services with Monero, Bitcoin, Cash, and Bank transfer. If this is the last reason you’re using Amazon, ProxyStore could be the perfect drop-in.

I guess what I’m confused about is why can’t you directly purchase Mullvad from Mullvad?

Thanks Henry!

I am aware of Proxy Store. Not sure bank transfer is an option for me where I live since they are in Germany. And sending cash would be about the same wait as sending it direct to Mullvad.

Any thoughts on the privacy of using Amazon to get the Mullvad gift card?

Kinda wish Mullvad sold the cards directly. Then at least there some is uncertainty in the possibility that I might have bought the card for a gift for a friend.

Ah so you’re getting this as a gift then for someone else? That’s context I missed!

Is there any reason you can’t purchase a Mullvad account for them pre-loaded and give them the account number?

I’m surprised to hear they don’t  But yes you’re correct! (I didn’t know this!)

Sorry for the confusion. I am getting it for me. If I use Amazon to get it I would use my GF’s account to purchase it.

I was saying that if Mullvad sold them directly at least there might be some obscurity and uncertainly there since you could have bought it for yourself or for a gift for someone else. Sort what you get with getting it from Amazon but I would rather get it directly from them.

Maybe good old cash is the best option.
