MQTT test using a mosquitto_sub command error

So in my journey to get OwnTracks working on my Raspberry Pi, I have installed MQTT and have gotten all the TLS certs setup properly I believe. however, it’s giving me an error: “Error: MQTT Error: MQTTException”. When I run mosquitto_sub -h localhost -t test to test mosquitto, and it gives “Connection error: Connection Refused: not authorised.”
From everything that I can tell this has nothing to do with OwnTracks, but I can’t figure out what I did wrong with Mosquitto to get it fixed. I’m assuming something with a config file but like I said I can’t find anything wrong. Feel free to ask for more info

My mosquitto/mosquitto.conf file:

# Place your local configuration in /etc/mosquitto/conf.d/

# /usr/share/doc/mosquitto/examples/mosquitto.conf.gz

log_dest file /var/log/mosquitto/mosquitto.log

nvm, figured it out. something to do with copying the wrong CA cert.
