This is my third day straight working on a cross platform synchronized finance strategy. Before I get into it the search term “mint” is ruined. linux mint, mint mobile, and I’m looking for an alternative to Mint: Budget and Track Bills. I have used Mint for 10 years or more (I think it was just called Quicken)
My first choice was GnuCash for the cross platform support. The Android app is very limited and out dated, but I have not even got to testing. First step was to set up a new NextCloud instance. I took my last one down over 6 months ago. I want to store the database on NextCloud and manipulate it on any device.
Importing CSV files is OK but I wanted to use the online banking option in GnuCash to see how does the program set up the “mapping” of the columns.
One guide I was using has been updated 2022 but has some pictures from 2013.
Still working on a workflow but doing a search on Discover OFX and or QFX shows dropped support of these formats.
I can share here a lot of my process if someone is insane enough to attempt “just switch to linux”
See Denaro for Desktop(Avaliable on Windows and Linux) and Paisa on Android.
