Oh if we could list what people should and shouldn’t use, this discussion forum wouldn’t exist. You realise there are needs varying from people to people right?

I really don’t care.
Obviously people have different needs, that’s not what i was talking about…
Some services such as google account or facebook are extremly privacy invasive, nobody should use them. Simple as that, it’s a fact, there’s nothing to argue.

Ideally.
“Ideally” the missing keyword in that statement. I think that everyone here knows at least to a certain extent how horrible those services are (heck, you could even argue serious human rights violations by some of them) but privacy/security/anonymity is not that simple.

Most people are forced in one way or another to use some of those services. I neither like it but the world is like that sometimes. It lefts you with no choice at all.

I would love to burn to the ground those companies myself. But here I am, forced to use a freaking M$ account for school.

Ideally I would be able to choose a provider which not sucks. Ideally.

Lol.
You aren’t forced to do anything, the only thing we all are forced to at some point is die and that’s it.
You always have a choice.
Your school need’s a lawsuit.
Schools in my country tend to tell students that they must install certain software on their laptops and use a gmail account for communications, simply, i would tell them my personal laptop that i bought is my personal device and you have to be mentally drowned to think you could dictate what software i will install on my own device, and there are enouh options to gmail no reason to use it.

Saying you are forced into something is not an argument, like i said you always have a choice.
If someone was to tell me “hey do you have whatsapp so we can chat” i would say no i dont use that garbage that storeds all my chats if you want to chat with me get briar or element.
Then, if the person was to tell me no i won’t install briar or element, fine then we won’t be able to chat now look at my middlefinger as go f*** yourself.

Seriously, it all depends on how serious you take it. For me there’s a redline, if you don’t have this line or it’s blurry that’s your thing but you always have a choice.

So I still hang on to all my gmail accounts. I stopped using them a couple years ago except for one of them which I use now just to pay MySudo with a prepaid Visa.
I am still deleting and editing accounts which honestly I slacked off on.
I still have PII linking me to those accounts via those gmail accounts. I probably could but choose not to delete the gmail accounts because I want to be positive that no one can sign up for a gmail account using those accounts.
I would like to go a year with out seeing My Name with MyName@gmail.con on search engines before I give them up.
I never used FaceBook to sign up for anything but I would hang on to that one if I could have, if I did. My account was deactivated with no known reason.

Unlike you, most people would choose not to argue with the concerned educational institution, or file a lawsuit like you suggest, or flip the bird at teachers. Please try to talk with a sensible mind and not like a five year old arrogant brat.
