Join the Techlore Team: Hiring a Creative Content Producer!

Hey everyone :waving_hand: I have some exciting news for Techlore: I’m looking to bring on a dedicated, remote Creative Content Producer to join the team.

Background :information_source:

After recent team changes, the passion of you all has only continued to grow, but it’s difficult for me to keep up with demand—which is a problem I’m grateful to have! I’m searching for a passionate person to deliver some of the best content in the digital rights space and expand to new communities.

Role :artist_palette:

The Creative Content Producer will be a hands-on, remote contributor and leader for the content production pipeline. While video production is the most critical task, this role involves planning content, developing scripts, capturing footage, thumbnail production, and overall content strategy. While I’m looking for proficiency across these areas, I envision a collaborative partnership where we leverage each other’s strengths, allowing you to shine in the areas you excel most. I want this to be an opportunity for you to directly influence Techlore’s creative direction and inject your own artistic vision into the work. Beyond content creation, you’ll have the opportunity to represent Techlore in the community, content, and more!

Scope :face_with_monocle:

The scope will vary depending on strengths, but you will have potential involvement with almost all of Techlore, including projects like:

  • Standard Techlore content
  • Clips channels
  • Surveillance Report
  • Go Incognito
  • Interviews
  • In-person events & conferences
  • Communities
  • Future projects

Required Qualifications :clapper_board:

  • Experience in content creation, video production, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Minimum basic understanding of digital rights, privacy, and cybersecurity topics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications :keyboard:

  • Experience or background in activism (such as human rights, digital rights, animal rights, etc.)
  • Experience with remote video production workflows.
  • Experience with online communities
  • Strong portfolio of relevant work.
  • Experience with film & camera work for in-person recording and/or B Roll.

Time Commitment & Compensation :alarm_clock:

Either part-time or full-time, with a strong preference for a full-time commitment. We will begin with a 3-6 month project-based arrangement, paid as a monthly retainer based on defined deliverables. The ultimate goal is extending this into a longer-term collaboration if we both connect well. Compensation will be competitive and discussed with qualified candidates.

Apply :incoming_envelope:

If you believe you’d be a great fit for Techlore, please send your application to join@techlore.tech

Kindly include the following in your submission:

  • Resume/CV: Highlighting your relevant experience.
  • Cover Letter: Please explain why you believe you’re a strong fit for this role at Techlore, and include your answer to this question: “What’s one digital rights topic you’re excited to create content about & why?” as well as something that speaks to activism you’ve been (or are) involved with.
  • Portfolio & Work Samples: This is crucial! Please provide links to your online portfolio, relevant videos, writing samples, or other work that best showcases your creative and production skills.
  • Main Location: Please let me know your current country and city of residence. (Time zones are important in remote teams!)

I’m incredibly excited to review applications and will be getting back to people as soon as I can. While I expect this to be a competitive role based on prior hiring, there will most certainly be future opportunities at Techlore that you may be perfect for—don’t be afraid to share your skills! I’m excited to get in touch and learn more about you all!

Final words:
We’ve never had a full-time team member outside myself. Until now, a lot of the creative and production work has been on my shoulders along with some incredible people who’ve previously been on the team to share in the journey. What I’m particularly excited about is that this role will find someone who will be at the forefront of Techlore and help lead its creative direction. This isn’t just about hiring; it’s about finding a partner to embark on the next chapter of Techlore with. If you’re unsure about the role or what it entails I’ll be more than available for questions in initial calls with applicants.

Considering the requirements for me
while I do personally have done content creation either through blog or old YouTube or this Livestream and a bit of scripts I wrote before, I honestly don’t wanna associate myself with anything so I’ll basically be passing on this one
