It’s still accurate they are legally headquartered in Gibraltar, they also have offices and employees around the world.

From their Law Enforcement Legal Process guidelines page:

IVPN does not respond to requests from governments or law enforcement agencies outside of Gibraltar, all requests must originate from a government agency with jurisdiction in Gibraltar.

When government or law enforcement has served legal process on IVPN by email, a duplicate hard copy must be personally served at the IVPN headquarters at:

IVPN Limited, 5 Secretary’s lane, GX11 1AA, Gibraltar.

I really think this needs a closer look. if they receive cash in germany then the corp owner is in germany. even if the corp itself is in gibraltar, the owner being in germany means he has no choice but cooperate with german government. therefore claiming that the jurisdiction is gibraltar is a deception, because at the end of the day they must cooperate with german government.

I think this really needs to be stressed, that the jurisdiction is unclear, because people who will chose that vpn for the jurisdiction will be likely deceived

I’m not a lawyer, but you have a point. Although Gibraltar may be where the company is registered, residing in Germany would probably make it effectively German jurisdiction. Of course that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t keep their word, no logs is no logs. But at least it’s more reassuring for customers to know what jurisdiction is theoretically involved

Owner is not in Germany, nor any other IVPN employees.

Company in legal sense also have zero affiliation with any Germany entities.
ie. there is no issues with the IVPN threat model for legal requests or cooperation requirements stemming from the cash address being in Germany. We ignore all requests for information coming from outside of Gibraltar as per our Legal Guidelines.

I recommend amending your account details here to add your IVPN flair so people know it’s you and are speaking for IVPN “officially” on the forum here - many have done the same.
