What are you Favorite iOS Apps / iPadOS Apps or Safari Extensions. (Like wipr and so on I’m trying to discover new good apps)
Finally time to show off my extension workflow
Sink It for Reddit
UnTrap For YouTube
SponsorBlock
DeArrow
Social Focus
Vinegar
Unfortunately iOS versions of these are paid but worth it for the mental sanity of avoiding the algorithm manipulating me
Everything @anon60537038 said, but I’d like to suggest Supercopy for safari, which adds a Keyboard shortcut and button for copying the url on iPhone.
iVerify app extension forces HTTPS only.
Not privacy related but Noir provides dark mode to all websites. May be a finger printing risk though.
AdGuard for adblock. Or 1Blocker.
Noir for night mode on pages.
That’s pretty much what I use.
AdGuard and Dark Reader
Have been using the Dark Reader desktop and android extension for a long while so buying it for iOS was a no brainer + I get to support the Dev ![]()
This is me, too. I have AdGuard and Noir installed across all my devices. They just work.
I have a few that I find essential:
- AdGuard: Free ad-blocker
- Customize Search Engine: Does what it says on the tin
- Hush: Removes pesky cookie banners and suchlike
- JavaSnipt: JavaScript blocker
- AMP Shockwave: Redirects AMP pages to their original versions
- Sideways: Lets you rotate webpages regardless of screen orientation
- Userscripts: Adds support for user.js scripts, such as Privacy Frontend Redirect and Return YouTube Dislike
- Vinegar: Replaces custom video players (such as those used by YouTube) with the default HTML5 video player, which also enables background play and removes YouTube ads
- Web Inspector: Also does what it says on the tin
Honey and duckduckgo, handsdown for both.!
How do you use JavaSnipt I find it to be broken as hell compared to Braves block scripts option
Duckduckgo basically doesnt load with JS Disabled which I know for a fact that it can
Also do you know if Custom Search Engine supports setting the engine to None (https://%s) because if so this is game changing for me
Right, so JavaSnipt kinda just works for me. I have it set to block by default, and I unblock sites by opening the share sheet in Safari and tapping on “JavaSnipt”.
As for CSE, you can literally set the search engine to anything. I currently don’t use it, as I have gone back to Ecosia for now, but I previously used it with SearXNG, 4get, and even Ahmia.
