I'm Joining the Cake Wallet Team šŸŽ‚

Hey everyone it’s been a long (and slow) week, so thank you for the patience on things…to get right into the ā€˜why’: as of this week I’m excited to announce I started a new position with Cake Wallet as their marketing manager

Now I don’t normally share very much about things I work on outside the Techlore sphere, which leads to some fun theories you all come up with, but this one I felt needed to be addressed :ballot_box_with_check:

The Position
As the marketing manager, I’ll be helping Cake develop partnerships, manage their socials, develop content, join them at conferences, and a lot more! I’ve made it no secret I’ve been a huge fan of Cake Wallet for years now, and so when we found a way to work together it felt like the perfect fit for me to join a team I was so passionate about.

Influence
Now the first hiccup is ā€˜how do I assure the Techlore audience this won’t impact our cryptocurrency recs’

Well, there’s no fantastic solution that doesn’t require some trust. Cake Wallet has existed in our resources for years, the other 2 (very vocal :stuck_out_tongue:) Techlore members have no involvement with Cake, and we still have our criteria that people can hold us accountable to when it comes to all our recommendations. As long as Cake continues to provide a service that matches the Techlore criteria—it will remain. If it no longer meets the criteria—then it will no longer remain.

As expected, it’s a given I’ll disclose my relationship when I discuss them in the community to try to ensure objectivity with how they’re covered.

Time
The second hiccup is time, which is a very limited resource :stuck_out_tongue: I can’t promise this won’t impact my time commitment to Techlore, because it will. What I can promise is I will be doing my best to juggle things as best I can. I ask for some grace the next couple weeks as I get settled into a brand new job and figure out how to properly integrate it alongside my other commitments. I’m sure most of you all have had to go through the transition of getting a new job, and I’m no different. As of right now I don’t plan on pausing/delaying any particular projects at Techlore, and instead am looking to cut back on other commitments outside the Techlore sphere. But even then, I just can’t promise Techlore won’t deal with some delays as I figure things out.

Techlore
Techlore is something I have a lot of passion for. So this wasn’t a decision I made lightly—because sacrificing any time I put towards Techlore feels like a massive kick in the gut. With that said, I’m confident in the path I’m seeing in the future, and I’m very excited for it :tada:

I wouldn’t be this excited if it weren’t for all the positivity I consistently see within this community, so I just wanted to send a massive thanks in advance for all of you and much you make me enjoy everything we do here at Techlore. All your positive comments just remind us how helpful and impactful our work is <3 Even if it’s just one person!

That’s all I got  Definitely leave any questions/concerns you have below and I’ll do my best to address them! Thanks Techlorians!

Congrats, @Henry! I personally have no interest in cryptostuff, but I’m happy for you and I appreciate you being open about this.

Agreed. Props to you for committing to disclosure and transparency, it boosts the Techlore image and provides trust. As you mentioned, it’s also important for you to disclose it in videos featuring Cake Wallet, similar to how LTT does with Framework, so I’m glad you plan to do so.

Just reinstalled Cake Wallet on my new phone. Need to check out the stores. I try not to eat out but when I do I like there to be a reason. Spending some Monero is a good reason!!
