I need help finding a note taking app and a RSS reader

Hello, everyone. This is my first post here so I apologize in advance if I did some mistake. I need a note taking app and a RSS reader. I tried Notesnook and I thought it was really good, but there’s feature I need that Notesnook doesn’t seem to have, which is Link Preview. It’s fundamental to me for it to have link previews, like Discord has for example. I know that a Link Preview isn’t good for privacy reasons because you have to ping the web page and stuff, but right now I’m using a private server on Discord as a note taking app and I want to at least have some privacy improvement compared to that. It can be paid, but it must have to be under $5/month.

And about the RSS reader, the purpose for me is to get Tweets and Reddit posts from the internet and show it to me in more private manner. It would be good to have separate folders or profiles so I can divide posts by content. I searched for some RSS readers but either they are kind of hard to set up (selfhost for example) or they don’t meet my needs.

TLDR: I need a notetaking app that has link previews and a RSS reader to get stuff from Twitter and Reddit*

Edit: I have to be able to use it with Windows, Linux and Android

Logsec is a self hosted alternative to Obsidian that’s cross platform. Issue is syncing the database, but I haven’t worked with it much myself.
OneNote is the only note taking app I recall off-hand with link previews and it’s not a good recommendation on the privacy front.

I used to use Feedly for RSS. Inoreader is the top alternative on alternativeto(dot)net.
Both are cloud based and would work in browser on Linux. Neither is private.

RSS → Feeder is great

I second Feeder for RSS. It’ll let you categorize feeds the way you want.

For notes, it depends on what you have set up. I’d try one of the following, though I confess I’m not sure if they support link previews:

  • Quillpad (can sync with Nextcloud or file storage)
  • Notally
  • NotallyX

All of these are available from F-Droid or directly via Obtainium.
