I recently found out that some bug in the Firefox update or Bitwarden extension had made it, so I was using a 4-month-old version of the extension, even when I manually clicked on the update button on several occasions these several months.
The fix was to uninstall the extension and reainstall afterward, giving me the newest up-to-date Firefox extension release.
