I wanted to send a happy holidays to not just our community, but everyone in the digital rights space 
If anyone has/had an exchange with family or friends involving digital rights that you’d like to share below definitely do!
On my end…I reconnected with some people I haven’t seen in 4 years, and when we asked to exchange numbers they already had a Signal account and it was just a welcome change to stumble on someone who already uses Signal! Minor wins!

I’ve gotten a friend and my sister to use Signal. I’m now in the process of getting 2 other family members on it. The technique Henry suggested of just saying that Signal will be the app I primarily text people on has worked nicely.
I have have a story now! I got to talk to someone about algorithms on social media platforms and how they affect people and society as a whole. I recommended ‘The Social Dilemma’ on Netflix to them, too.
