Yes, but archinstall requires you to go through numerous additional steps and make choices that some users may not understand. Or maybe the user just wants a faster process.

I compared it to ChrisTitus’ tool.

ChrisTitus’ tool automates all those extra steps, making the process more convenient.

For a brand new Linux user at-least* - hell, even I would not be sure how to use or install Arch

I honestly wouldn’t recommend plain arch to a brand new Linux user, at least not the vanilla one, only the flavours like EndeavourOS and Garuda Linux.

Ah yes - I wasn’t thinking about Endeavor and others. Then you’re right - it’s very easy to install.

Personally, I still encounter several bugs with the archinstall tool. Sometimes, it works flawlessly, and other times, it fails, requiring me to go through additional steps to identify the root cause of the error.

On the other hand, I haven’t encountered any such issues with ChrisTitus’s tool “yet”.:crossed_fingers:

I don’t mean to offend you, but it’s better to just stick with the manual installation.

I know it’s overwhelming when getting started but this way you’ll make sure everything is working as intended.

Yeah, I mean, I don’t think Arch is for beginners (or maybe I’m wrong and I’m too bad at tech).

Months later and your still right.
sure this and archinstall makes the process easier but if you have an issue, you do need the skills to use terminal, patience and research skills.

woaaah there @GorujoCY , that, is made for the EXPERTS. common users shouldn’t use that. they need to do it the manual way so they don’t break their system.
