In China, if your phone contains Telegram, VPN, Singal and you have criticized the government, the consequences of being discovered are more severe than a duress password, and usually depend on the mood of the official at the time. It is usually 10 years in prison or death penalty, no trial, no further evidence, no charges, usually directly detained in the local detention center and moved to prison after a few months, no chance of a re-trial. In this case, I am pretty sure a duress password is better.
