After a few years of not having Instagram, I unfortunately had to make an account recently for a certain social purpose. Not thrilled about it, but you do what you can— I only run it through the progressive web app which works fine.
On the flip side, I basically haven’t had any desire to be on the app constantly like before, so I’d still consider that a win!
I’ve also had to switch from a custom ROM to iOS. Again, you do what you can even if it’s kinda not great. I managed to get my close circle on Signal, but I understand people reeally like iMessage and other Apple ecosystem functions etc.
At the very least, I don’t use iCloud for many things. (No photos, backups, etc.) I have other more private solutions which work still great! Thankfully, advanced data protection (or whatever they called it…) exists, which is better than nothing.
