Being in this community might also warp your preception. I would imagine that most people here are doing way more for their privacy and security than the average person. So if you need to change how you do things a little to work well with the people near you, just remember you’re still doing far more than most people.
Plus at least it is an iPhone that you have had to switch to and not a Huawei or another like that.
As for compromises I have had to make, my SO still uses social media like Instagram but I’ve got them on the web app at least. We’re mostly on Apple devices but at least we’ve got advanced data protection. And I have with their permission gone through and changed any settings on their devices that would increase their privacy/security without causing compromises with how they use things.
There were also a few things that I put my foot down and got them to change, like using a password manager and 2fa, really just security stuff.
